I am DONE!!!

Great learning experience, would do it again in a heartbeat. And for me not being a real "tech" type, I took away lots. I was intimidated at first and had almost given up when a coworker printed the 30 things for me. That was the greatest gift. It then did not seem so large a project, I skipped around alot and did a little at a time and it was so worth it.

Thank you Cindy for sharing such a wonderful learning opportunity and for your gentle reminder to get Lola back on track!

Blog about 2.0 experience

I can say I really surprised myself by finishing. I had bagged it and then a coworker printed up the 30 Things for me which I found extremely helpful. I liked playing with the online image generator, searching you tubes. Flickr has some great stuff too. It was also neat to see other colleagues blogs and to see their struggles and enthusiasm when they actually "got" it. Some of the exercises were alittle hard for me, like Folksonomy. I learned alot and it was a great experience.

Podcasts

Neat learning tool. Liked it learning about 2.0 and I love it listening to NFL player interviews. News is neat to listen to as well. Not something I want to seek out but when it is on the website and I want to hear it, it's pretty cool.

Del.icio.us, Tagging and Folksonomy

Well, looks like all in one bookmarking. I did not go thru all the hoopla to create an account with del.icio.us. Can see the convience for someone who is always online, using the same sites, just for myself, I can't even commit to toothpaste, hair color or much else I have to look at day in and day out so not a site for me or a tool I can see using right now. In the future if I were at a place that I found myself using tools over and over, yeah would use it. Folksonomy bored me to death!

Well, I see you can search for blogs by tagging. The subject you are searching for comes up in many different blogs. Ehh, Not for me but then again neither is blogging!

2.0 Awards List Craigslist

To be honest, I chose this sight because I had heard a lot about it. I however, was unfamiliar with it. I knew lots of people were using it and thought I would check it out. It is pretty much a bare bones site, easy to get around, some of the discussion site topics were funny. Almost like a Monster.com and a Ebay and group talk all in one.

I know, I know. I am all out of order! Thats ok! As long as my 30 things get done before the 29th! I posted my book and author today! This was one of the easiest things I have had to do for Learning web 2.0. No problems here.

Kinda cool to see only the websites that I had chosen to place in my account but not a very refined tool at all. Found in confusing, One tool that I can say I will not use. Nice to know it's out there. Would definetely have some difficulty justifying the use of it to a customer.

LibraryThing

Very easy to create and add and be involved with. I am not much of a fiction reader so just off the top of my head threw a few titles on there. Definetely so the usefulness of this site. It was neat to move around it and see what others thought of books they had read.

Wikis

Learned some neat stuff. Excellent way to collaborate with other libraries , share info. Think it is neat that web pages can be open edited or restricted to certain people.

You Tube upload

This is all really neat stuff, not things I will use but really I was quite surprised to see how easy it is done. I miss Heath Ledger already. He was such a cutie and having a little girl and all. It is just all sad.

Flickr mashups

I checked out the travel one and it was really cool to see how the man had his pictures of hotels that linked to current temp, rates in both american dollars and euros. Also some of his pics linked to maps. It was interactive and informative all combined into one shot. Nice.

Instant Messaging

That is a pretty cool thing. I have had some experience with it not just with the libraries but with insurance rates, and some online department shopping. I like being able to "talk" with someone when I am on a website with questions. And really had positive experiences with it.

12- Now that is what I call technology. I feel it is a great way to reach out to our customers even before they enter the doorway to one of our libraries. The technology to tell our customers info online is the way of the future.

Very Fun stuff , made me laugh at some of the things people put out there but also found some of the stuff to be gross and rude and very unappropriate.

Flicker Tags

Now that was neat to go into albums of other peoples. I had put in a search for the Borgata casino and checked out some pics but you can then go into the tag and get the full album which was posted with that photo in it. I got to check out staff parties, break rooms etc.

What a neat sharing of pictures. I loved it. Fun to put your own name in and check out what pics are there of people or by peeople with your own name

Library related rss feed

I picked Hennepin County Public Library. It has booklists, great ideas for programs, easy to get around sight. Inviting site.

411 Networking

Think it is a great way to network for social groups. Also think families spread out could use this. Not really into it myself. More old fashion, send it in the mail but guess it is time to learn.

My Space

Creating the my space account was fairly easy. I actually use this to check on the kids and what they are up to. Mark Jr has music playing, lots of pictures. It's a neat one. Tyler always changes his as do Amber and Ginnie. It's a tool I use to make sure the kids are on the up and up.

Blogging

Really neat way of sharing information. Check out pics of my family.
